With nearly fifty indigenous ethnic groups, Peru is a nation of rich cultural diversity. Despite facing challenges of poverty, disunity and a strong history of nominal Catholicism, MB churches in Peru are growing in maturity and beginning to see multiplication, particularly among the marginalized. The Multiply Peru Team is working alongside local churches to train emerging leaders, disciple youth, and provide leadership support as needed.
VISION: The goal of this project is the strengthening of partnerships between North American churches, Multiply global workers in Peru, Peruvian national churches and key national leaders, and the exploration of future joint missional ventures in the region. Designed to prioritize relational connectedness, significant intentional time will be allotted for team members to fellowship together with one another, as well as with Multiply missionaries, Peruvian church ministry leaders, and local families. Activities will center in the northern part of the country around Piura, where there are currently twelve MB churches. Team members will meet and engage with various churches, pastors and ministry leaders, enjoy the hospitality of local families who will host them, and become familiar with the Almirante compassion project.
DATES: October 14-23, 2024
Donations to this project will help cover international travel expenses for 10-15 participants, as well as all in-country expenses, including flights inside of Peru, meals, accommodations, ground transportation, and special events. The cost per participant will be $1,700.00 USD for all on the ground cost plus flights (anticipated to be around $1,200USD).
